They have always been able to pay at least V2 cent a pound for butter fut more than any of the private creameries. Sometimes this excess goes as high as 1M: cent a pound. This is what has pulled such an increase in patronage. One farmer's herd averages about 2,000 pounds of butter fat a year. This means that he gets from $15 to $20 more than if he had patronized a private creamery. With 300 men patronizing the creamery, it means a saving of $5,000 or $6,000 to the farmers each year.
