Perhups you, or at least your boy, looks on milking as drudgery. Remember that drudgery is "labor without thought." increase the interest of your boys in the cows and the drudgery will disappear. Divide the cows up between the boys or the hired men and offer a prize to the one that gets the most butterfat dining the year. Take your boys into partnership and offer them a share of the profits. Make them feel that, they are a part of the business and they will milk the cows drier, feed them better and pound them less. This sort of plan can be accomplished through the test association.
