Council Continues Study of Sewage Disposal Lagoon At Tuesday Meeting

Much ol the meeting of tile Farniville Town Council Tuesday was taken by a report and dis cussion of the sewage treatment lagoon led by Town Manager L. Z. Jdfen.ston. The town office has been busy this month confering with their Lynchburg engineering firm and members of the Virginia Water Control Board on details of the proposed sewage lagoon. Analysis of the sewage content oi the west end line is being made to determine the size, design, lo cation. etc., of the first lagoon. The first lagoon, estimated to re quire some three to five acres will take the sewage that is now being emptied into the Buffalo River. Johnston reported that no loca tion lias been selected, and that further study will be made before buying tlie necessary land. Some of the economic considerations arc costs of the sewage line, cost of the land, construction costs, whe ther dikes will be needed, etc. These factors must be determined and tlie proper balance between cost and effective service reached.
