The possible sale of concentrate milk m Virginia could present stiff competition to local producers and distributors, the economists say. A recent survey done by econo nvsts at the University of Wisconsin *ndicated that fresh concentrated milk would have wide acceptance among consumers if it were sold “or less than fresh whole milk. Uni versity economists checked the popularity of the concentrate, not yet on the general market in the area, with 919 families in Madison and Beloit, Wis. They found that if it sold for two cents less a quart than fresh whole milk, half of the families would use it in place of their regular milk. If the concentrate was six cents less, 75 per cent would make the switch. Only 22 per cent said they would not change at any price. All comparisons in the survey were made with regular milk figured at 20 cents per quart.
