Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 9, from the Cieest Funeral- Chapel, Culpeper, for John William Spicer of Castleton, a veteran of World War II, who died at the Veteran’s hospital at Oteen, N.C., after an ill- - ness of nearly two years. -■
®ev. S. Felton Carter and Rev., William B. Dennis officiated at the service and interment was in' the family section of Fairview cemetery, Culpeper.
Mr. Spicer, 46, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lewis Spicer of Castleten and for the past '20 years had made his home in Washington, DiC._: ‘ % ~ <
Besides his parents, he is sur- • vived by six sisters and one brother: Miss Dorothy Spicer and Miss Helen Spicer of Castleton, Mrs. T, D. . Bowles, Mrs. J. T. Walterson, and Mrs. George Hales of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Garland Grammer of Lynchburg, and Charles Edward Spicer of Alexandria.
Pallbearers were Clyde Courtney, William Spicer, Harry Spicer, William Curtis, Harold Spicer and James Spicer. At the close of the service the American flag which draped the casket was folded and»presented to his mother. rT-v ; - r"" i- m ■
