Haaker Leaves For
Concert Series
William Haaker, conductor of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and concert pianist, left Washing, ton Friday, September 7, following a stay at the Washington House. Mr. Haaker stated that he had enjoyed four days of relaxation at Avon Mills and some time at uninterrupted practice— a thing almost impossible in the city. He gave a piano concert in Luray, September 6, at the homd of Charles Chapman, carillioheur, for the benefit of the symphony'drive in that county. ’
The last week in August Mr. and Mrs. Haaker were in Cleveland, Ohio, for the International Platform Association Convention when Mr. Haaker gave a piano recital. Mrs. Haaker>has returned to their, home in Richmond.
