Mr. and Mr*. John Meade of - Grundy have announced the marriage of their daughter, Betty Jean, to James Miller Thornton, son of Mrs. Mildred Miller Thornton of Rappahannock and the late (Philip Lee Thornton of Culpeper.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. (Macon P. Greene' on Uftlday, September 7, at 4:80 o’clock in the First Baptist church at Grundy, in the presence of the two families.
Mrs. Thornton was graduated from Mary Washington College ofthe University of Virginia.
Mr. Thornton -was graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Insti> tute and is continuing his studies at University of Georgia.
Mr. Thornton is a grandson 'of Mrs. J. J. Miller of Slate Mills, and of Mrs. Lee Thornton of Cul■ peper. -j-£
