Blood Bank Program

Plans Announced

Mrs. D. D. Miller, chairman of the Rappahannock chapter, American Red Cross, announced plans for the participation of the local chapter in the Washington, D.C., Regional Blood Program.

Rappahannock County Chapter is one of twenty-one chapters in Virginia and West Virginia invited to participate in the extension of the Washington, <D.€. Regional Blood Program. Already a number of these chapters have approved participation, including the Albemarle County Chapter. In Albemarle county and Charlottesville the program will be known as the University of Virginia— American Red Cross Program.

Before it is possible for a community to participate in a Regional Blood Program, approvial must be given by the hospitals, doctors and county health officer in each county. .x

Mrs. Miller announces that a county wide meeting for all interested persons will be held at Court House in Washington Sunday afternoon, October 28, 2:30 to discuss the program and -to l»ear Senator Raymond Guest. Senator Guest will be introduced by Hon. James W. Fletcher. Mfse Marion DeLeon, General Field Representative, Eastern Area, American Red Cross, will also attend the meeting. *
