It ia interesting to note that Rappahannock' took a first and a third prize among competition from counties that have formal art instruction. Art in Rappahannock schools is taught along in the v regular order of the day by the regular classroom teachers, and many of them have enviable reputations in their art teaching._
As a sidelight into the awarding of the prizes, Carlyle Lea got the sweater offered as a prize by his father’s store. Most people who know Carlyle say they guarantee he collected. /.

John Andrew Keyser
A most impressive Memorial 'Service was conducted in the Washington Baptist church Sunday morning in memory of Mr. John Andrew Keyser.
Rev. M. E. Sliger, pastor of the church, subject was. “The Best Christian I Know”. He explained some qualifications and duties of a Christian.
The resolutions, drawn up by the. committee, Mrs. Clarence Giles, Mrs. J. Frank Jones, and R. V. Sriead, were impressively read by E. M. Jones.

Rev. John A. St. Clair of Rocky Mount will be the guest speaker for a series of meetings at Oakley Baptist Church, beginning October 23, through November 2, each evening at. 7 >80 p.m.
The Rev. Mr. St. Clair is a former pastor of Rappahannock and a cordial invitation is extended to all people of the county to attend these services.
