Valley No. 2 was entertained at the home of Mrs. Luther Jenkins Sr., October 18.,Mrs. Jenkins showed the members her living room which she had improved. She pointed out to the members her newly punted woodwork, wall coverings, snided floor, and was planning ^to add new windows in her room. She not only had new paper and paint in her living room but had continued to redecorate a number of other rooms ip her home. The demonstration given to the club was on ‘‘Oven Meals”.
A called 4-H meeting was held Tuesday, October 16 at Sperryville, Flint Hill and Washington schools for the purpose of cpllecting summer projects.
'A leader training meeting .was held at th ehome of Mrs. Barbara “Gentry, Saturday. The demonstration “Pood for Health and Pep and mportance of Good Breakfast” was shown to the foods leaders. These ladies will give the demonstration at the November meeting, November 19.
Part of the demonstration given to the H.D. club this month has been on the use of apples. Mrs. <?. R. Hite says that she makes a dish which her family calls Glorified Apple Sauce. She crumbled graham crackers in the bottom of a baking dish and adds a layer of thick sweetened spicy apple sauce. She continues to fc*dd layers of apple sauce and graham crackers until dish is full and last layer is graham crackers. On top, of graham crackers sprinkle with hrqwn sugar and dot with butter. Heat in moderate oven until thoroughly hot. Serve with whipped cream, coffee cream or ice cream as you prefer.
