In District Poster Contest

Mjss Lelia Gentry,, grade *» Rappahannock High School wen the first prize in the poster contest sponsored by theConservation Week celebration in the 5-county district.

Prizes for winners in Rappahannock were donated by The First National Bank of Flint Hill, Moore, Kelly 6 Reddish Contractors of Orange. Downing Wood, Lea Bros. 'Store, Washington Cash Store, Rappahannock National Bank, and Merrill Motor Co.

Miss Gentry, as winner of first place in Rappahannock county and then being awarded first place in the district,, -eeeived $25 in cash, awards.

Gerry Edward Atkins, of grade •even, Flint Hill School, a first prize winner in the county contest, was awarded third honors in the district.

County winners are: High school level: 1. Lelia Gentry, 2. Carlyle Lea, 8. Gloria Dennis. 4-7 grade level—1 Gexay Atkins, 2. Georgia Standish, S. Sidney Graves. 1-8 grade level—1. Ed Lynn Menefee, 2. Madeline Bruce, 8. David Pullen.

The three winners in the Ugh school elevl, the first two in the 4-7 grade level, and the first in the 1-8 grade lead were seat to Culpeper to compete against the •winners from Orange, Madison, Culpeper, and Greene countiee.The

judges for Rappahannock county, Mrs. L. J. Kilby, F. Clyde Beggarly, and Rev. *. E. Sliger, are to be congratulated on their •work. They picked winners for the county that proved to be winnars against four other counties. Their job was not easy, for there were 90 posters entered in the Conservation contest in Rappahannock—more than any other county in the district.

District winners were announced over the Culpeper radio station Tuesday night, Octobebr 23, and the county winners were heard receiving their prizes. 'District winners were:
