For 1951 ACP Reports
Rappahannock county farmers, expecting to receive payments for practices carried out under the 1951 Agricultural Conservation Program, and who have not yet reported what they did, had better get busy immediately. Such was the, warning issued this week by H. S. Barksdale, chairman of the county PMA committee, who stated that Tuesday, January 15, 1952, is the last day on which farmers may file 1951 ACP performance reports with the PMA county office.
“There’s only a short time left,” Mr. Barksdale said, “and to date the county office has on file 1961 performance reports from only 232 farmers whereas we are expecting a total of 394 reports to be filed. Unless these outstanding reporta are made right away, I am afraid some of our farmers will be a long time getting their checks.” He pointed out that farmers who delay until the last minute to report, also delay the county office in preparing applications for payment. These applications must be processed by the state PMA office and the Treasury Department before checks can die issued and the Treasury Department will toon he very busy with the 1961 income tax refunds. 7
