At the request of Dr. Johnson, health department official, the Board of Supervisors has called a special meeting for Saturday, December 22, to discuss action regarding the rabies threat in Rappahannock county.
A dog from the Castleton section of the county was taken by Game Warden C. Ennis Brown to Luray recently. Examination of the dog head returned a report Tuesday, December 4, of the presence of “nefri bodies which is characteristc of rabies.”
The reasons for quick action to combat the spread of rabies are man^, according to the health department.
