In 1947 Hyde was secietary of th« Winchester Junior Chamber of •Commerce. Since 1947 he has been an active member of the Winchester Exchange Club, serving as president during 1961. (He was secretary of the local Community Chest in 1960, on its Board of Directors for 1961, as (well as captaining the Professional Division in the 1961 campaign. Since 1950 he has been secretary of the Winchester Golf Chib. He worked on the last three Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festivals, serving as chairman of the Distinguished Guests Committee for three years.

iHyde attended Handley School and Shenandoah Valley Academy, here, Lawerenceville, New Jersey, School, and received his A.B. degree from Yale University. He completed two years graduate work in business administration, at New York University.

Mrs. Hyde is the former Mary 'Sewall, of Bath, Missouri, and they have two daughters, Polly, 5, and Jane, 8.
