( Bacteriology is the science of bacteria — microscopic, typically unicellular plant organisms dwelling in air, in water, in organic material, in; dirt and in places where there is no oxygen. They are highly important in the economy of life, though some aia pathogenic in man, causing such illnesses as the “strep throat” and tuberculosis. As a member of a health profession, your druggist must learn to distinguish between friendly and unfriend, ly bacteria and know the drugs that are lethal to unfriendly bacteria.
