( Bacteriology is the science of bacteria — microscopic, typically unicellular plant organisms dwelling in air, in water, in organic material, in; dirt and in places where there is no oxygen. They are highly important in the economy of life, though some aia pathogenic in man, causing such illnesses as the “strep throat” and tuberculosis.
