“She-Town” Ladiet--—File Candidacy Notices
As of noon yesterday, vvitli still more than 24 hours left, the full ladies’ town government had filed notice that it was up for re-election. Mrs. Helen G. Benton takes the place left vacant when Mrs.’ Reid Biedler (formerly Elizabeth Racer) moved to Washington, D.C.
Today's the deadline for the candidates to file notice for the June 10 town election in Washington.
This filing deadline is for those whose names will appear on the ballot. Write-in candidates may appear at the last minute.
By noon yesterday, along with the fall ladies' ticket, two men had filed notice of candidacy. Permission to print their names could not be obtained because, as one man said, his wife was having fits because he was a candidate and he’d probably have to withdraw!
