Firemen’s Convention To Be

Held In Culpeper

Culpeper is busy planning and working on two big celebrations, one set for this week-end and one for next. The Northern Virginia Firemen’s Convention will be held in the town of Culpeper today and tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, June 26 and 27.

July 4 and 5, next week-end will be the annual Culpeper Horse Show.

Highlighting the Firemen’s convention will be the Fireman’s Ball at the Pot & Kettle Club Thursday night, and the big parade of Friday night at 7 o’clock. - Plans for the Horse Show next week are large, with the committee anticipating one of the best shows for many a year.

Among those from Rappahannock on the Horse Show committee are Oliver Durant II, James W. Fletcher, Leon Greenaway, and 1 John R. DeBergh. On Saturday, July 5, the fifth race vyill be “The Rappahannock Steeplechase,” for four-years-olds and up, 2Vz miles.
