County News Notes

Miss Louise Strother Miller of Charlottesville will arrive this week at “Millermead,” where she will join her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and 'Mrs. John Wood of Cleveland for a visit to their parerits, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Miller.

Sgt. and Mrs. John Jenkins and daughter, Onita of Richmond were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burke last week. Sgt. and Mrs. Jenkins have recently returned from Germany where Sgt. Jenkins has been in service of the armed forces.

Mr. and Mrs. Warren Payne and family of Richmond were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burke over the weekend. _1___

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burke and son, Gary are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Burke of Bearyville while Mrs. Isaiah Burke is teaching in the Bible School of Boyce.

Reports state that C. L. Burke’s condition remains unchanged.

Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Updike, Miss Phyllis Verner, Elizabeth Verner and Mrs. A. M. Verner spent JWednesday with Mr. Verner’s sister and brotherin-law, Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Kalvach of Arlington. Miss Phyllis Verner, who has beerf visiting in her home here returned to her position t Dunn Loring.

Mrs. Gordon Hilldrup and son, Ned of Chancellor spent Thursday with Mrs. A. M. Verner*

Mrs. Florence W. Hickman and Thomas H. Hickman of Philadelphia, mother and son of A. M. Hickman, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Hickman.

Mrs. W. A. Miller left on Monday for her daughter, Evelyn Miller who has been visiting Mrs. Millet’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Brent of Richmond and . Virginia Beach.

Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Miller were guests on Sunday of Mrs. Bertie Lib Moffett and B. R. Miller of Greenwood.
