Catherine LiUard Crowned

“Qneen May”

The Rappahannock County High School May Day program, postponed because of weather conditions, took place on the athletic field, Monday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. Members of the court were selected by the student body.. Miss Catherine LiUard, a Senior from Flint Hill, was chosen Queen.

Miss Lilfcrrd wore a dress of white taffeta and net and carried a bouquet of flowers. The long court train was carried by Joyce Moore and Mary Atkins. The flower girls were Christie Liscomb and Ann Jenkins. Newbill Miller, a Senior, from Washington, was chosen King, and was attired in white evening clothes. He received the crown which was carried by the crown bearer, John Anderson, and. crowned Miss LiUard, “Queen May.” Miss Lois Racer, Maid of Honor, wore a blue taffeta gown with net. She wore a colorful picture hat and carried mixed flowers. Harold Brown, the Crown Prince, wore white and gave the speech of the occasion. •
