Of Corner Stone
The laying of the corner stone in the new Sunday School rooms of Washington Baptist church was conducted Sunday, May 17, after the regular services.
The occasion was marked with simplicity, reverence and dignity, and the setting, under the trees, added to the service. The laying of the stone was done by the pastor, Rev. G. Proffitt, and the superintendent of the Sunday School, Judge Rayner V. Snead.
Into the copper crypt of the corner stone were placed items symbolic of the time and religious significance of the occasion just before the stone was permanently set in place.
The service was concluded by a benediction sung by Miss Jo Ellen Worth, “Bless This House, O Lord, I Pray."

Rev. George Bowman of Boones Mill and Richmond has accepted a call to become the pastor of Mt. Lebanon and Woodville Baptist churchs. He and Mrs. Bowman will • be moving into the parsonage some time before July 1, at which time they will begin their pastorial duties.
