It somehow seems a bit odd to read of a drought raising the yield of any crop much less corn. The Rappahannock News is growing so fast just guess they can’t think in terms of a reduction in yield of anything! Dig! Dig! Dig! Quit kidding me, Bruce, and I’ll stop too, or was that lame stool offered as a token of peace?

Prof. A. H. Teske advised last month for our orchardists to be on the lookout about now for heavy infestation of leaf roller in our apple orchards. Fact is, Teske agreed at that tme to come back to see how serious this expected outbreak would be and he is coming tomorrow. Better take a good look at your orchard yourself as our previous inspections have revealed quite different situations, what may be a good worthwhile spray for one orchard may be a needless expenditure in another.
Be at the Court House at 8 o’clock tomorrow night to hear what friend Teske has to say. Also you might want to get more size on your apples now that the drought has been partially broken. Stop-Drop sprays may help you do this which subject Mr. Teske will also cover in his discussion.

Some of our Swine producers may ■be interested in seeing how a Feeder Pig Sale is conducted. If so the Second Annual Feeder Pig Sale will get underway at two o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the Orange Livestock Market. This sale is put on by the farmers of the area.
