Mr. and .Mrs. J. G. Revercomb spent the week end with their children, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Riddle and family of Arlington.

Mrs. R. P. Coates and Mrs. Mable Yowell of Culpeper were luncheon guests on Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Revercomb.

Miss Mary Thomas White, who has been spending the summer in Ga. with her brother, Jerry White and family returned to her home Tuesday.

Rev. William Hales, the guest minister of the Woodville Baptist church, is the guest of Rev. and Mrs. George W. Bowman III.

GARDEN CLUB MEETING

The Rappahannock Garden Club will hold its August meeting at Lake Manahoac. The members are being entertained at a picnic lunch by Mrs. Joe Yowell and Mrs. Grover Revercomb who are hostesses for the meeting. It is hoped all members can be present at 12:30. No exhibit has been planned for this picnic.

The Division Conference for all teachers-of both Counties will be held at the Warren County High School on Wednesday, SeptemJ)er 2, beginning at 9:00 A.M. The meeting of the two local education associations will be held during the first period of the morning, and these will be followed by a general meeting of all teachers. The guest speaker for the morning session will be Gerald Quirk, of the State Department of Education, and the topic for discussion is to be: Health and Physical Education Jn Relation to the Total School Program. This theme will be carried into the afternoon session when elementary teachers will plan for the Health Program to be used locally, while the high school teachers meet to plan for the work of that department. On Thursday, September 3, the children of Rappahannock County will attend school for the first day. In W arren County, the elementary teachers will work on September 3 with Miss Barnett, a reading consultant who will explain and advise concerning the new reading textbooks to be used in this*division. These reading conferences will be held in the Front Royal Elementary School. The pupils of the 1st, 8th, and 12th grades will attend all schools in Warren County on Friday, September 4, from 9:00 to 12:00 noon. This will provide the opportunity for these groups to become adjusted before the entire student body arrives. School buses will run on this day. The first day of the school session for all pupils in Wafren County will be Tuesday, September 8.
