PVt. BENJAMIN F. BROWN son of Mrs. Catherine Brown of Sperryville, has arrived at Camp Polk, La. for training with the famed 37th Infantry Division. He has been assigned to Company R of the 148th Infantry Regiment of the Buckeye Division.

Gibson Wharton was honored at a •birthday party held Sunday at Schuler’s in Luray. Among those wellwishers who attended the picnic were Mr. and Mrs. Irving Sisk and daughter, Millie, Mr. and Mrs. Lennie Frazier and daughter, Betty, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brown and children, Carolyn and Michael, Mr. and Mrs. William Groves, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Wharton, Mr. and Mrs. William Sisk, Mrs. ^Wharton and her son, the honoree, Gibson Wharton. Returning to Washington, they were entertained at dinner at the home of Mrs. Gilbert Wharton and Gibson Wharton.
