To be sure not many of us could pay such money for a single cow; however, any local farmer who is a member of the Rappahannock Artificial Breeding Association can get a half sister for seven dollars, the price of a service fee on her sire, Bowmont Decender Demple King.
Gordon Thornhill, (tel. Sperryville-3410) technician for the local association, reports the following daiirymen have bred cows to King and have about a fifty-fifty chance of getting a half-sister: W. H. Wood, Jr., Amissville; Glen Williams, Flint Hill; and Woodrow Coughlin, Castleton.
Rappahannock Dairy cow owners who haven’t already become members of the local Breeding Association and wish to take advantage of this opportunity should contact either Gordon Thornhill, or G. M. Black, secretary of the association, Sperryville (tel. 3541).
