Walter M. • Yowell, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Yowell of Peola Mills, has recently returned from Colorado Springs, where he has been pitching for the Sky Socks Baseball Club, a minor leagues team of the White Sox. Mr. Yowell has been away since March with the Sky Socks.

The marriage of Miss Barbara Lee Griffith, of Washington, to Murphy Julian Reid, of Woodville, was performed at the home of the officiating minister, iRev. Warren Corbin of Woodville on Tuesday, September 22.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Richard Griffith. The matron of honor was Mrs. Irvin „ Corbin Jr. and the best man was Pfc. Irvin Corbin Jr.
A reception was held after the wedding with guests as: Mrs. Elsie C. Griffith, mother of the bride; Mrs. Frances Reid, mother of the groom; Pfc. and Mrs. Irvin Corbin Jr., Richard Griffith, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Corbin Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Burnam Corbin and family, Shirley and Charlotte and Rev. and Mrs. Warren Corbin.
Mrs. Reid holds the position as secretary of R. C. H. S. and Mr. Reid is employed at the Sylvania Plant in Fredericksburg. ~ .
