Trooper Lowman Assigned
Duty in Sperryville Area
Trooper John Lawrence Lowman, Virginia State Police, whp has just. completed a 12-week course of basic training in police work at Richmond, reported for duty in the Sperrville area on September 27.
A native of Arlington, Trooper Lowman is a graduate of Stonewall High School, Gearbrook. He served in the U. S. Navy from June 1948 to June 1950 and holds the Japanese— Occupation and China Service medals. Mrs. Lowman is the former Delores Ann Walthall of Baileys Crossroads (Fairfax County). Trooper Lowman has a daughter, Joanne Joyce, five months old.
Trooper Lowman holds a high • school letter in football. He was voted outstanding senior by the American Legion. Interested in reading, huntthat
he joined the Department as he prefers outdoor work and is particularly interested in police work. Trooper Lowman will establish a new duty post.
