Sperryville School

Organizes PTA

A meeting was held December 2, at Sperryville Elementary School for the purpose of organizing a ParentTeachers Association. \ The following officers were elected at the meeting: President—Mrs. John Davis; Vice*President—Mrs. Downing Wood; Treasurer—Mrs. James W. Fletcher; Secretary—Mrs. Joseph E. Pauze. - — —:

A program committee was created for the purpose of inquiring into the more immediate needs for the school and its members and to suggest steps whereby these ends may be attained. The following members were appointed on this committee: Mrs. L. J. Kilby, chairman; Mrs. Lee Thornton and Mrs. Downing Wood.

The tentative program for the next meeting, January 12, 1954 already promises entertainment as well as presentations of instructive matters. * ■ ' .

W. M. S. Electa Officers f

Eleven members and one visitor were present at the W. M. S. meeting on Tuesday, December 8 at the home of Mrs. C. G. Reid.

The following officers were elected for the coming year: President— Mrs. Frank Jones; Vice President— Mrs. L. J. Turner; Secretary—Mrs. S a 11 i e Keyser; Treasurer—Miss Margaret Compton; Mrs. Frank Wood, chairman. Those taking part on the program were Mrs. C. G. Reid, Mrs. L. J. Turner, Mrs. G. M. Profitt, Mrs. W. C Campbell, and Mrs. Gilbert Updike.
