Classes
The Sperryville P.-T. A. is sponsoring dancing classes, including ballet, tap, ball room and modern dancing, to be conducted by Mrs. •Martha Campbell each Wednesday beginning January 6 at 3:30 in the Sperryville Elementary School auditorium.
The majority(o£ the classes are $6, per student for one month’s lessons (that is 4 lessons).
These lessons will be financed by the Individuar pupils. The P.-T. A. will assist in starring the school and will cooperate with the instructor in making it run smoothly.
Mrs. Martha Campbell who will be in charge of the school has spent several sifmmers studying at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Ted Shawn's University of The Dance, located at Lee, Massachusetts. While there, she took classes in the following: ballet, under the instruction of Anthony Tidde who is a director of the Metropolitan Opera Ballet School; in modern dance under Myra Kinch. ethnic (Asiastic dancing) under La Meir, who is a world renown authority on Spanish, Hindu, and other ethnic dance forms; and fundamentals of movement and rythm under Ted Shawn, founder and director of the school. Mrs. Campbell conducts classes in Winchester, Front Royal, and Martinsburg. Mrs. Campbell has always maintained a high standard of dance education in ballet, tap, and ballroom dancing.
