Largest Deer Killed

Allison Atkins’s 8 point, 170 pound buck was the largest of the eight deer felled during the open season in Rappahannock this year—a high kill as compared with the one felled in 1 the 1952 season. Richard Brown’s 8 point, 159 pound deer came in a close second with the other 6 kills ranging from 77 pounds to 122 pounds. These individuals kills as reported by the checking stations are: a 4 pointer, 122 pound buck by William T. Frazier; a 2 point, 77 pound spiked buck by Rodney Vest; a 92 pounder by Callis Dodson; a 7 point, 106 pound buck by Lewis Woodard; a 6 point, 140 pound buck by Silas Beahm and a 110 pound, 6 pointer checked in by Clark Jones.
