:M«y Rainfall Short 1.65 Inches Over 1953

During the month of May, 3.62 inches of rain fell in Washington as compared with 5.27 inches in 1953. During the first five months of 1953 a total of 18.08 inches of fain fell as compared with 15.88 inches in 1954. In other words we are 2.2 inches short of rain so far . this year over 1953. The last good rain before the drought in 1953 was on June 29th. During June 1953 we had 2.54 inches and only .96 during the whole month of. July.
