The announcement of her appointment was made by Samuel M. Bemiss, of Richmond, President of the state’s oldest and largest adoption agency.
Announced at the same time also is the appointment of district chairmen to work with Mrs. Miller in the drive. They include Mrs. L. R. Hudson, Chairman for Hawthorne District; Mrs. Ralph Rowzie, Chairman. for Jackson District; Mrs. Kathleen Lawrence, Chairman for Piedmont ( District; Mrs. C. B. Johnson, Chairman for Stonewall District; and Mrs. Eleanor Bradley, Chairman for Wakefield District.
Sponsors for the drive include Mrs. S. E. Hening, of Sperryville , Mrs. L. R. Hudson, of Slate Mills; and Mrs. D. D. Miller.
"The work of the Society is for the benefit of the babies whose own parents, because of various circumstances, have had to give them up permanently, and these babies come to the Society in real heed of help,” said Mrs. Miller, in pointing out the job the Society is doing in Virginia.
