The Housing bill which the Senate passed last week was the .result of five weeks of hearings by our Banking and Currency Committee during which more than 2.000 pages_of testimony were taken from builders, mortgage bankers, renters, potential home

_bexperts in every area of the housing field. We also had the benefit of an intensive study made by the President’s Advisory Committee on Housing and much of the testimony was directed particularly toward the recently widely publicized scandals connected with administration of the housing program.
