Hospital Plans
* Five Supervisors met Wednesday morning in the September session of the Board and discussed in addition to routine business, the Fauquier County Hospital and what it would mean to Rappahan, nock.
The Board also approved a motion made by A. C. Latham and seconded by W. C. Campbell, that the county assume the 3-year back payment of social security charged the county officials. When the officials recently were put under social security, they were to pay in addition to current payments, payments extending back for a three year period. In neighboring counties similiar proceedings were recorded and the county assumed this back 3 years of social security and were not paid back by the individual officials. Previous to the aforementioned motion, which was carried, the county paid the bill but the officials paid back the * county. James Settle, clerk of court, presented this question to the board.
t)r. J. R. Boldridge appeared before the Board, telling them of the newly formed Fauquier County Hospital, and of its impact on this neighboring county of Rappahannock, since so many of our citizens particularly find that hospital most convenient. (In addition, the stretch of road from Washington to Warrenton sees the majority of the county’s accidents.) Judge Snead also appeared before the Board to join in the discussion on the Hospital Plans. A. C. Lathanramade a motion to send a check to the Hospital Fund, but it lacked a second. The matter was tabled until the October meeting.
