The Rappahannock Hunt and Hazelmere Hunter Trials held at the Culpeper Horse Show Grounds, on Saturday, October 16 were run under perfect-weather conditions, in the wake of Hurricane Hazel. The 9 classes averaged 8 entries each.
Miss Neville Wood and Miss Lee Greenaway brought back the blue ribbons. Miss Wood won the Ladies Hunters with her “Pride” topping nine other entries and Miss Greenaway won the Juniors under 12 class. The final class, The Junior Drag Hunt, was probably the most colorful event. The Hazelmere Hounds pack followed a drag course and the field of young riders made a complete circle of the show grounds and steeplechase course, finishing up in the center of the show ring.
