All boys at Rappahannock Co, High School over 15 are allowed to join the “Keep Virginia Green” fire fighting crew. Raymond^ Johnson, Fire Warden for Rappahannock, and R. G. Leonard, Agriculture Instructor, trained the boys in fire fighting and controlling forest fires on October 19.
This instruction proved useful last year as the crew was called out a number of times to fight fires.

The annual magazine drive, sponsored by the Curtis Publishing Company, is on this week. Money earned for* the school during this drive will be used for uni-, forms for the boys’ basketball team.

This is initiation week for the Rappahannock F.F.A. Chapter. Boys to be initiated have to wear such weird costumes as shorts, ladies’ hats, and pocketbooks and, even dresses. The actual initiation ceremony will take place tonight, October 21.

Engagement Announced
Mr. and Mrs. Percy R. Drury, of Orange, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Terry, to Pfc. Jatnes S. Jenkins, U.S.N., son of John Jenkins, and the late Mrs. Jenkins of Washington, Va.
