F.H.A. Stresses
Conservation Week, October 17-25
By M. B. FIELDS
County Supervisor
Governor Thomas B. Stanley has designated October 17-23, 1954 as Virginia Natural Resources Conservation Week. This week is designated by Gov. Stanley as a means of causing everyone to become more conscious of the importance of our natural resources—Soil, Water, Forests and . Wildlife.
The Farmers _ H o m e Administration feels that it is an excellent opportunity for our farm families to take a personal inventory of the natural resources of their individual farms, M. B. Fields, local FHA County Supervisor, stated.
Since Soil and Water is the basis of any farm operation FHA borrowers are encouraged first of all to practice good soil and water conservation as this will be the determining factor in their success or failure. Prospective borrowers are encouraged to request assistance from their local Soil Conservation District for developing complete plans for soil and water conservation for their farms.
All farmers must-bear in mind
