Turner Doorway Wins First Prize In Decoration Contest
Mrs. Lewis J.'Turner’s dever doorway display won first place in the Washington Christmas Decoration Contest which was concluded with the Thursday night selection of winners bf outof-town judges. A great green star at the top of the whitened door cast tinselly rays of silver light down unto the silhouetted stable scene. At each side three tall red candles set in green branches lighted the scene.
On the bay windows . at her home, Mfs. Morgan Johnston had painted the Christmas Story. On one window was the Mother, Mary, Joseph and the new bom Baby. The other windows showed the shepherds and wisemen watching the Star. This display placed second in the contest.
Third prize was awarded to Mrs. George Davis who credits . her son, George, and her daughters, Dottie Taylor and Mary Norman, with the decorating.
