Realizing the need of agricultural training for young men duF* ing the transition period between vocational agriculture and veteran- training a Young Farmer Class has been organized at the Carver High School. So far, there are IS members enrolled in this class. These members consist of 16 former vocational agriculture student arid 2 veterans. The first two meetings of this class were devoted to setting up the program of wort, and electing officers. The officers elected were: Thomas Carpenter, President; Linwood Carpenter, Vice President; Aaron Garnett, Secretary; Lawrence Blankenbaker, Treasurer; and Treasure Arrington, Parliamentarian.
This class is scheduled8 to meet on the second and fourth Tuesday nights of each month at the Carver High School. The first ninety minutes of each class will be consumed by a lesson taught by the agricultural instructor or some other agricultural agency. The last thirty minutes will be devoted to the club’s activities with the president presiding and the vo-ag instructor serving as advisor.
It is urged that all young men who have the desire to keep pace with the ever changing methods of modernized farming should join this class.
