Vocational Agriculture and NFA work are so closely knitted together ’til it is utterly impossible to pull the threads of one without damaging the other. To speak of the O. R. Johnson Chapter of New Farmers of America, it gives us a sincere feeling of satisfaction to think of the many accomplishments achieved in the past six years. Organized in October, 1948 by O. R. Johnson, the chapter has been ranked among the best in Virginia every since.
To mention a few of the accomplishments, we have nine honorary degree members; we have had four State NFA officers, eight State FFA Foundation Award winners, two National FFA Foundation Award winners, and seven Modern Farmers; we have won second and third places in the State Forestry Judging Contest for the past two years respectively and we have placed fifth and seventh in the State Livestock Judging contest for the past two years respectively. '
Disregarding the Northern Virginia Federation affiliation, listed above are some of the accomplishments that have helped to keep us on or near the top of the NFA Chapters in the State.
