WASHINGTON RAINFALL 2.22 BELOW AVERAGE , FOR 3-MONTH PERIOD
U. S.; Weather Bureau, reports that January 1955 was the driest in Virginia since 1891 with an average |of 1.15 inches 2.13 inches below normal for the state. jThe previous driest was January 1927 when the state average was j1.28 inches. . *
During the month of January 1955 Washington, Virginia station had the lowest precipitation record of any station in the state with .16 inches. ,
February records show 2.49 in., .40 inches below Washington, Va. 124 month average and .98 inches more than in February of 1954.
On March 1, 1955 records revealed 3.13 inches below the average rainfall so far in 1955.
The month of March came trrough with 3.80 inches compared to 3.81 inches in 1954 and .91 in. above the 124 monthly average for the Washington Station.
1955 to date is 2.22 irtches below her monthly average.
