$150 For Auxiliary
The card party sponsored by the Auxiliary to the Amissville Fire Department was attended by more than a hundred people. It was a gala event and enjoyed by alL
A beautiful doll, donated by Mrs. Arthur Woodward, was given away. Mrs. John S. Browning of Flint Hill was the lucky winner. -
The door prize, a picnic basket, was won by Irving Sisk, Jr., of Suitland, Maryland and a beautiful crochet center piece was won by W. A. Laing, Jr., of Amissville.
Following the refreshments, the tables were removed and a large number of people joined in the cake-walk. Seven cakes were given away.
The doll brought in $6.15; the centerpiece, $60.86, and the cakewalk, $20.01. The sale of tables and the donation were $69.50. This made a grand total of $157.52. After all expenses were paid the auxiliary realized $150 profit.
The cooperation among the Amissville members was excellent and the chairman, Mrs. Ralph Rowzie and her committee members, Mrs. Charlie Compton, Mrs. Arthur Woodward and Mrs. W. A. Laing, Jr., wish to thank every-, one who helped to make the party a success.
