Ida Golden Dies
Af ter Long Illness
Mrs. Ida Nokes Golden, a native and lifelong resident of Rappahannock County, died Thursday night, May 19 in Slate Mills at the home of -her daughter, Mrs. C. M. Ramey. Mr*. Golden had been ‘in declining health for several years, and m ill health for some months.
The daughter of William Ri Nokes and Julia Pullen Nokes, both of the county, Mrs. Golden was born December 27, 1882 near Amissville. She was married to Robert E. Golden, December 6, 1900 and one daughter, (the present Mrs. Ramey) was born to them.
A devout church member, Mrs.8' Golden first allied herself with the Mount Salem Baptist Church, Rock Mills. Later when the church closed, she became a member of the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, and a]t the time of her death, .held membership in the Slate Mills Baptist Church, in the community- where she made her home.
Mr. Golden preceded his wife in death four years. Mrs. Golden leaves to survive her: Mrs. Ramey; • 3 sister, Mrs. Gilbert Updike of Washington, Mrs. A. J. Brady of Winchester add Mrs. Horace Pullen of Flitit Hill; a brother, Dudley Noke$ of Milldale and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held Saturday evening from the Clore Funeral Home with the Reverend Clem Walters, her pastor, officiatwas
in the Fairview ing. Burial Cemetery.
The activfe pallbearers included George HaWkins of Sperryville, Robert Lillard and Tom Lillard of Flint Hill, Stanley Golden and Charlie Burke of Front Royal
and Robert j Wisecarver of Winchester. Friends acted as honorary pallbearers.
