Virginia cow prices may hold for another week, but they are due for a. decline. The auction average for top cows came down from $14.25 to $14 last week, but the overall average was up a quarter to $11.75 contrary toi a decline in general cattle prices. It is also about time for cull dairy cow’s to start coming to market in increased numbers.
Virginia fed steers were about 75 cents a hundred lower last week, averaging $19.75. They reacted to lower prices in Midwest markets where offerings were heavy.

Virginia veal prices dropped 75 cents a hundred to art average of $21.50 last week, after general leveling off period.
They will probably be down some this week. The general trend of veal prices should be down until the mid-summer low, with minor fluctuations from time to time.
