Funeral services were held at Gainsville Church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock with his pastor, Rev. James L. Duley, dfficiating. The large crowd of friends and the many beautiful flofal tributes were evidence of the high esteem in which he was held.. He was laid to rest in the family lot in the church yard.
The flower-blanketed casket was borne by Messers Francis Bruce and Bruce Brown of Sperryvillef brother arid cousin of! Mrs. Smith), Bud Gaines and Reginald Ricketts of Fairfax, two of his co-workers with the C. and P. Telephone Co. 'Dalton Carpenter
and Gordon Pattie, lifelong friends from Catharpin. j
