A check for $250.00 was found in the brown velvet hat by Frank Huff, while Mahlon Ramey found - the firemen’s checkfor $250.00 in the ribbons tied over another hat.
The Fire Company presented ; Mrs. B. R. Cox, president of the Auxly, a handsome pearl broods with earrings to match, tor "her untiring and unwavering interest since the organization of the Auxiliary on January 18, 1942.!’ Mrs. Cox is now serving her second, term as president. In thanking the Company for theiri generous gift, Mrs. Cox stated that her members did all of the work.
In die absence of Charlie Jenkins, fire chief, who is hospitalized, John M. Barber, Jr. spoke with enthusiasm, soliciting the wholehearted support of the Auxiliary to work with the firemen during 1956. Mrs. Cox, speaking for the Auxiliary, assured the firemen of the Auxiliary’s willingness to cooperate, commenting that the Auxiliary’s plan of work would -be ready to give them on the' sixth of February.
