Adding Lavatory
To Second Gryde
P.-TA Project
Most of the parents of grade school children who have visited at the High School this year have been aware of the very serious problem of overcrowding in the general lavatory. With both High School students and pupils from the second and third grade using this ope facility, a bad situation has been created; A few yeitrs ag6 the first grade pupils also shared the of the lavatory but then toilet facilities were installed in their room which immcdiatly improved both the traffic and the discipline problems. «.,
Recognizing that additional steps are still needed, the PTA has taken as its yearly project the installation of a bathroom in the second grade room. It was felt by both parents and teachers that this would greatly help the general situation by reducing the load on the present lavatory by 35 pupils and by giving the second grade teacher closer supervision over" her children. Estimate have been obtained-for the cost of the work and the PTA is now making an attempt to raise the necessary money. Contributions may be sent to the Rev. John R. Frizzell, Jr. Washington, president of the Rappahannock Co. High School P/TA. •

The Flint Hill Garden Club held its final meeting in the home of Mrs. James M. Settle Wednesday evening. Since most of the members work outside of their homes and help is so hard to obtain they voted to disband until some time in the future when more interest might be shown. The Club has been in existence for more than twenty years and has rendered many services to the community in beautifying the roadsides and lighting a Christmas tree for the town as well as various other activities through the yeary.
