A resolutioi passed by the pen. eral Assembl: ■ of Virginia, concerning Inter position, had {been received by th i mayor. It was read bu no opinion i were expressed by the council. ; Mrs, A. M. Verner and Mrs. T. Morgan Johns on, were choseh to represent the council at the pulpeper Chamber of Commerce annual dinner, t > be held this year February 29. - •
The secrets ry had been approached by l-H members And members of tie FFA club, in regard to their project of planting dogwood in th i town. The council wholeheartedly agreed to the project.

Concerning ihe alley between the L. V. Merri II property and the Thornton property, opinion was divided as to w tether the cleaning of the alley ha I been accomplished, and as to the extent of Pie - cleaning. It wa ^suggested, a motion was made ind passed to “ask Mr. Merrill to clear the alley across from his place of business’* (next to the ]roperty of Mrs. Thornton.)

He asked that the opinion of the rest of the citizens be made known to him. 1 he secretary was asked to writ* to Mr. McDaniel, stating that no other complaint .had been brought to the attention of the council, b it that he ask his workers to mak< sure to ask the permission of tl e property owners, before trii itming trees their property.
