4-H Club Sponsors
Rural Elec, Project
The County 4-H Club is sponsoring the annual Rural Electrification project each Wednesday evening in the court house at 7:30. Last Wednesday the opening meeting was held with about 30 dub members and leaders present. Mr. W. H. Lyne showed a movie on the discovery of electridty. Record * books and requirements were explained by Mrs. W. A. Gentry and Mrs. Rap Owings. Jean Lilstrations on the use of, electridty at the congress. Those boys and girls from Flint Hill taking the project are: Jean Lillard, Judy Lillard, Virginia Russell, Jane Corbin, Harrison Powers, Marvin Bra4ford, Jack Chadwell, .Arther Smoot, Jr., Eddie Sutphin, Loretta Sutphin, Glen Williams, and Ivory Atkins.. One more girl is needed to take the project so that one girl in the county will be elegible to go to Richmond. There must be 12 girls and 12 boys enrolled and all must complete the project before any are eligible for the award trip. : lard gave a review demonstration ‘ on wiring a plug. Mr. Lyne showed those in the unit how to tie the underwriters knot and how to wire a plug. Several of the younger club members gave demonstrations. The reward for excellency in this project is a two day trip to Richmond with all expenses paid at the Jefferson Hotel and a round of entertainment and fun provided by the sponsors of the project, the power companies of Virginia.
