Rap. Bulls Sell Well
The 64 Record of Performance bulk sold at Culpeper Enterprises on April, 2nd averaged $627.97. The 20 Hereford bulls brought the highest average of $705.50 with sr^foSfe head selling in., four figures. The 41 Angus bulls averaged $599.15 while the 3 Shorthorn bulls averaged $508.33. Most of the top-priced Angus going to out-of-state buyers. Joe Peck . of Bethesda, Md. paid $1025.00 for lot of 36 while Henry W. Darden of Baton Rouge, La. bought 3 of the higher priced bulls. Several Angus alsowent to Alabama. The top Shorthorn bull was purchased by the Stuart Land and Cattle, Company of Lebanon.
Two of tthc four bulls consigned by Ned Johnson were purchased by Rappahannock breeders: L. J. Kilby and Gordon Hildrup. Ned’s other bulls were purchased by S. E. Charleston of Hickory and Popular Springs Farm of Casanova. Other Rappahannock breeders making, purchases were: D. Lyle Miller, Jr. Alpheus Thomas Lee.
