Cancer Crusadet
The American Cancer Society’s crusade in Rappahannock County will begin on Monday, April 13, extending through Tuesday, Aprit 28. For a community thd size of Rappahannock County, the following figures have been estimated for the year 1959: 22 will be under medical care; 7 will die of cancer; and there will be 13 estimated new cases. It has also been estimated that, in the same size community, 1,250 persons now living will develop cancer.
“The importance of -the Cancer Society’s Crusade," stated Rev. H. E. Nkholson, County Chairman, “Cannot be over emphasized.”
Leaders in the 1959 Crusade are: Mrs. E. G. Hackley and Mrs. C. M. M. Green, Amissville; Mrs C. B. Johnson, Woodville; Mrs. Frank Cary and Mrs. G. W. Smith, Flint Hill; Mrs. W. H. Critzer, Washington and Mrs. Jack Weaver, Sperryville.
